Pure Leaf believes “No Is Beautiful.” Nearly 2/3 of moms have questioned their value because they were overwhelmed with doing it all.  Household chores, childcare, and job stresses feel endless, and saying “no” to those responsibilities often comes at a real financial cost.

That’s why we started the “No” Grants: to give women a little extra financial support to help them say “no” to unrealistic expectations. Last year, as part of our $1 million commitment to dismantle the barriers women face when they say “no,” we partnered with SeekHer Foundation, an organization working to dismantle societal expectations that negatively impact women. We created the “No” Grants, a fund providing short-term support to women who want to say “no” more in the workplace.

Now, in year two, we also brought in maternal care advocate, author, and mother Elaine Welteroth. With $400,000 in grant funding, we hope to alleviate some of the real financial pressures of motherhood.

Whether it’s ordering take out, sending out laundry, or getting a sitter on date night, the “No” Grants are designed to give moms the extra help they need, so they can simplify their life. Want to say “no” to doing it all and “yes” to a little extra financial help

  • Grants are subject to applicable taxes

  • Open to all legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, who are 18 years of age or older (19 years of age or older in Alabama and Nebraska) as of date of entry, who identifies as a mother.

  • There will be three application periods:

    1. May 9, 2023 - June 30, 2023

    2. July 1, 2023 - August 31, 2023

    3. September 1, 2023 - October 31, 2023

  • Applications will only be accepted in English

  • You may enter once per application period with a different, unique entry

  • An individual can only be a recipient of one grant

We're small, but we’re here to make a big impact. We took $5,000 out of our savings to turn the initial idea of Pepper into a successfully funded Kickstarter project. Rather than adopting a growth-at-all-costs mentality that usually requires raising venture capital from the very beginning, we hustled for as long as possible so that we could grow our community the way we wanted. Now, we’re giving that $5,000 back every year in the form of a no strings attached grant. But that’s not all: in addition to the grant, we are also committed to providing access to our own networks, resources, exposure, and mentorship opportunities.

The Pepper Startup Grant is specifically for Black women business owners, a dynamic group that has been systematically disenfranchised when seeking to acquire the necessary venture capital funding to expand their businesses. We’re here to change that.

Pepper was inspired by a passion to change beauty standards for women who are overlooked in the bra industry, now we want to help underrepresented Black entrepreneurs kick start their businesses, in their own way.

Eligibility:

  • Business in any industry
  • At least 50% of the business must be owned, controlled or operated and managed by Black or African-American, female or non-binary identifying owner(s)
  • At least 18 years old
  • U.S. resident, and your business must have U.S. legal entity (i.e C-Corp, S-Corp, LLC, Sole Proprietorship, Partnership)
  • Early stage business with less than $500K in external equity financing raised

Pepper was inspired by a passion to change beauty standards for women who are overlooked in the bra industry, now we want to help underrepresented Black entrepreneurs kick start their businesses, in their own way.

  • Have generated a minimum of $25,000 USD in revenue in 2022

For example, if your project will cost $5,200, you will apply for $5,200. You can enter yourself into either the $3,000 or $6,000 grant; if you enter the $3,000 grant pool, then you will only be reimbursed $3,000, even though your project costs $5,200.

There are four different grants available; you can only apply for one grant per business. More than one application per business automatically disqualifies all applications for that business.

Requirements to Apply:

  • This is a statewide opportunity for Montana women-owned businesses only, with ownership of 51% or more.
  • This opportunity is open only to for-profits.
  • Grant funding cannot be used for businesses in the cannabis industry.
  • Applicants do not need to be Prospera members.

  • Please do not submit a grant for training—the Department of Labor has an excellent grant called the Incumbent Worker Training Grant that can help you.
  • If grant funds will leverage other fund sources, the applicant must show proof that those funds are confirmed. If you are applying for funds to hire a new employee, please show proof that your business has the cash flow to support this new position beyond the grant period as well as a job description with wage information.

Applying is simple. Just take a few minutes to tell us about yourself and your business dream. No long, complicated forms to fill out.  Submitting one application makes you instantly eligible for all grants related to your business.  We announce the grant winners by the 23rd of the following month.

Filling out the application to tell us a little more about yourself and that application makes you eligible to win the monthly $10,000 Amber Grant.

Speak From The Heart

Applying for the Amber Grant is easy. Don’t try to “sound corporate.” Past grant winners are women who have simply shared from the heart. Our judges are looking for passion as well as business smarts.

What Matters is You

No business dream is too big or too small. Our past Amber Grant recipients have included everything from scientific inventors to bakers. What matters is YOU — the woman (or women) behind the business.

There is a $15 processing few with each application.

WomensNet founded the Amber Grant Foundation in 1998. The Foundation was set up with one goal in mind: to honor the memory of a very special young woman, Amber Wigdahl, who died at just 19 years old — before realizing her business dreams.

We know you CEOs are busy so put this date on your calendar: March 15th, 2023Galentine’s Day! This is when the application period will open but we’ll sneak peek some of the elements of the 2023 grant on our social before then. Finally, bookmark this page and be sure to join our mailing list below to stay in-the-know about other special products, resources, events and opportunities for women entrepreneurs!

We have been blown away by the response to You Glow Girl two years in a row! In 2022, we saw an almost 500% increase in applicants and we hope to reach even more women in 2023! We’re continually inspired by all of you women out there taking the bold leap to start your own businesses. The grant will be back and better than ever in February 2023 accepting new (& old) applicants!

What sets You Glow Girl apart from other business grants you might come across is all in the secret sauce of the grand prize package. We’re looking to support one glow-getter not only financially but physically, emotionally and spiritually as well. It is Cristie’s belief that business owners, particularly women and “mom-prenuers” can’t bring their best to their business without also filling their own cup! Both our 2021 and 2022 iterations of the grand prize included the following:

  • A $10k cash award to help propel her business forward
  • A one-year supply of Eat Me Guilt Free products to keep a girl fueled on the hustle
  • A physical health & wellness prize (in 2021 it was a Peloton bike and in 2022 a one-year subscription to Class Pass!) to help her reach her fitness goals
  • An intensive mentorship program with Cristie

And in 2022 we even introduced a mental and spiritual health portion of the prize - 12 monthly mental health check-ins with a licensed professional and a one-year subscription to Calm so she can bring a clear mind & heart to each & every day as she builds her team. In 2023, we’re going to continue to UPGRADE - stay tuned!

We started the program to support one fortunate femme in taking her business to the next level and now, the program is growing and glowing.

Here's the deal: Since we launched this program last year, IFundWomen has secured more than $8M in corporate grants to pay forward to our members (that’s you). So far, we have only deployed around 40% of the grant pool, so there is still a ton of money to go around.

In addition, we regularly get asked by VC's for deal flow, so if you are interested in being a part of our database, fill this out.

This application should take you no more than 20 minutes to fill out. Pro Tip: Have your business pitch written out in advance so you can simply copy and paste it in. The rest of the questions are basic and easy.

Upon submission of this form, your information will be stored in IFundWomen's UGA Database. This information will be used to notify you of grants for which you are qualified.

If information changes on your end, we suggest you submit a new form (we’ll connect the dots between your previous and current submission as long as it’s under the same email). Pro tip: Have your business pitch written out so you can simply copy and paste it in.

Reminder: This is not an application to a specific grant. Please stay tuned to your email and to IFundWomen's website for relevant grants opportunities.
